concerned about the number of very young radfems I see on tumblr so I would like to say, on behalf of trans sapphics everywhere, Cis Lesbians: it is ok if you don't wanna have sex with someone with a penis. We never said that was transphobic, just don't be rude to trans girls about itALT
The only reason people get shit for saying they don't like dick is because they either A) ARE rude to trans girls about it B) imply that trans girls are "part man" C) try to speak for ALL lesbians in not liking dick But having a preference is not an issue in and of itselfALT

should probably post this here too

Also just out of the blue, unprompted, talking about you not wanting to have sex with someone, is pretty rude and if you’re bringing that up like that to that person when they haven’t asked, its honestly a form of harassment.

Imagine, (and this may have happened to you before so think of how that felt) having someone, loudly and unprompted, talking about how they find you, personally unattractive and don’t want to fuck you. You never asked, you have made no indication you want anything to do with them sexually, and yet they just keep talking about it, then say you are harrassing *them* when you tell them to shut up.

Now, not finding you attractive is well within their rights, but they’re being incredibly rude and hurtful to say that to your face without any reason to.

Idk, as a cis queer person who also has a lot of other aspects of my identity such as being mixed race and disabled that some people take issue with, who has been on the same recieving end of strangers not shutting up about disliking your body for one reason or another when you’re just trying to survive, and having to take the constant harassment on the chin and deal with it constany chipping away of self esteem just for daring to *exist*; I agree that it does get to a point where you’re just being transphobic. (Or in the cases of myself, ableist or racist)

You are not required to find anyone attractive. You however *ARE* required to treat people with some basic level of human respect.

God, I wish that I had this post back when radfems/TERFs were harassing me over exactly this. It sums it up better than my autistic ass ever could.

The province has no immediate plans to increase funding for social assistance programs such as the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) or the Ontario Works (OW) program despite a 15-year “steadily growing caseload,” documents obtained through a freedom of information request suggest.

A report, included in the transition binder of Minister of Children, Community and Social Service Michael Parsa and reviewed by CTV News Toronto, says funding provided through both these programs are a “last resort support” to individuals in financial need.

The report makes no specific mention of any plans to increase the funding for the programs, noting instead that “increases to rates and benefits to reflect inflation and cost of living will drive additional costs” in the years to come.

Almost 900,000 people are receiving funding through one of the province’s social assistance programs, representing about 6.9 per cent of the province’s population. This number has “steadily” increased over the last 15 years, the documents read, and is expected to further grow with the uncertain impact of the pandemic. […]

As someone on ODSP who doesn’t get enough money to move out of my parents’ place and regularly has to beg for donations on the internet, this is infuriating

I already knew they didn’t give a shit about us but it’s so awful to be reminded how little they care

I am increasing exhausted with the conservative government insisting that us disabled people live in government mandated poverty. It has definitely contributed to my having to live in volatile and unstable living situations, and having to move every 2-3 years.

Also, I want to highlight this part of the article in particuar:

“However, when asked about the initiative, Manson said it may encourage agencies to connect recipients with jobs they may not be well suited for.
'The province is tendering employment services to basically the lowest bidder, whoever can provide employment services for the most value for their dollar,’ he said.
'That incentivizes them to put people in a job, any job, it doesn’t matter what the job is.'”

This will invariably lead to OW & ODSP recipients being exploited, which will in particular further negatively impact the lives of disabled folk. Some of us can’t fucking work, and forcing us into jobs ill-suited to accommodate us isn’t going to help.
We are not an underpaid workforce that the Ontario government can throw under the bus.

HOLD THE LINE!! KEEP PUSHING!!!!!

Sorry babes but as someone who lived lug around 500 cds they can die. To me lps are at least pretty and pretentious like a fine wine. Cds have no point

the point is cds are sexy as hell. sorry you dont know what sex is.

visual diagram btw ^

@danepopfrippery

The real point is that you OWN a CD. You do NOT own anything digital you purchase.

Google Play stole hundreds of dollars worth of music I paid them for from me by forcing me to upload it to YouTube Music (or lose it entirely) which is behind a subscription paywall, requiring me now to pay more money every month if I want to listen to MY music I PAID for without constant advertising.

You do not own anything digitally purchased. It can be taken back from you at any time and it is fully legal for big corporations to do so for some reason.

CDs can’t be taken from you unless they come into your house or car in person to physically pry them out of your cold dead hands.

That’s why the resurgence. As funny as that person’s reply to you was, it’s not in fact because they look sexy. It’s because you actually own them.

Look- CDs are your friend. CD-ROMs and CD drives with the capacity to burn? Are your friends with benefits.

Can anyone teach me how to burn Digital only songs into CDs?

i can ask my dad!! i think you need a certain piece of hardware, but i dont think its difficult!

not rn tho hes asleep

I would love that thank you!!

“Here is what the sea smells like. It is more texture than scent, because the sea is primarily made of two substances that have no smell of their own: water and salt. Salt has no smell, but makes the air sting, and so all of the other smells of the sea are layered upon the pang of salt. Water has no smell but instead a comfort. We feel moisture as life and so the smells of the ocean are layered upon the contentment of the water. Salt is treble and water is bass. I don’t know how I know this is true, but I know it is true. The sea smells like old wood and wet leaves. Like cold mud and warm stone. Like every creature who has ever lived in it, a churning graveyard and nursery. Like winds from the inland carrying the hot circulation of life and winds from the ocean carrying the distant froth of waves against ships and islands. Like gray, only more so. Like blue, only less so.”
